Linking with healthcare data
Every time we have contact with NHS data is recorded. This can range from admissions to hospital. attending A&E or seeing the GP. This data can capture all kinds of information and can help us understand how we use the healthcare system.
Here at SHARE UK we can use routinely collected healthcare data for research. All of this data is completely anonymised. Your privacy is protected. We would never know who you are are and all personal information is kept separate from healthcare data.
By looking at how people use the healthcare system we can help to make it better. We can learn more about how things can improve and the best approaches for good care.
You can help us with this even more by linking any information you give on the SHARE UK website with routinely collected healthcare data. Everything will remain completely anonymous and even our researchers are not able to identify you.
If you would like to help simply click on the ‘health care data’ tab in the ‘my account’ section
You’ll be asked for some details about yourself. This information will only be used to make the link with your healthcare data. The information will not be shared with anyone and will be kept separate from any other information you give us. Even our researchers will not be able to identify you.
We ask for your address for the NHS to make the link with your healthcare information. Once this link is made this information is destroyed. We don’t use your address for any other purpose and will never pass it onto anyone else. We will never write to you at your home address.
By linking your responses with routinely collected data you could make a real difference. This could help improve the way services are run and help with guidance for those working in healthcare.
We want to make sure that the right support is out there for everyone who needs it. You can help us make a real difference.
